I sowed some seeds this morning in found pots with rich Black Belt soil. Yes— those are old concrete buckets! I washed out and reused them after Will made a table with the concrete. I get such a simple pleasure in working outside with my hands, and being able to watch some of my food grow. I only planted a few vegetables and herbs this time— enough for one person to manage. My first garden last year got a tad out of control because my roommate and I planted way more than we could handle. Lesson learned! I never had a garden as a kid living in northern Ohio, so I’ve come to appreciate and love the long growing season here in Alabama.

I heard there was a snow day in Ohio yesterday…. it was so wonderful to be outside in short sleeves in the middle of February here! :)
